Luke Skywalker
When I take images of pop culture or family photos, converting them to pixels represents the physical world gradually converging with the digital world. It represents youth and simplicity, the basic block-by-block structure of early video games. Attempting to reproduce the precise structure of the pixel image in acrylic paint is never perfect. And, I know perfectly reproducing that pixel image isn’t possible. It is the exact same feeling as wanting to be Luke Skywalker or Boba Fett. I knew it wasn’t possible, but that desire, throughout youth, was always there.
